The New York city-based NewSky Project, led by John Russo, delivers a spiritually uplifting combination of vibrant and versatile acoustic rock. Lyrical depth and soulful sound characterize the music from this group that provides both original and cover shows that include the sounds of Elton John, Sting, Marc Anthony, Billy Joel, Elvis, James Taylor, Don Henley and Natalie Merchant among others.
The group's full sound, together with meaningful lyrics and Russo's mellow voice, results in a listening experience that can satisfy many musical tastes. With a penchant for melodic ballads, the group delivers an intimate and exhilarating live performance. While playing clubs in the New York area, they have shared the stage with the legendary folk artist Pete Seeger, pop-rock groups Dog's Eye View and They Might Be Giants are among others.
The NewSky Project is currently working on their second CD and touring clubs, cafes and colleges nationally.
