Reviews

"A happy surprise was the excellent singing of Counertenor Jerry Hinks in his first major (sic) role with a professional opera company. His countertenor sound has an other worldly beauty; his technique is secure. In their one duet, Mills and Hinks created a moment of love and triumph as convincing in emotion as it was unusual in tonal color". The Salt Lake Tribune, Celia R. Baker (Utah) July 2000.

"Hinks' sensitive singing, thrilling high notes and nimble execution of difficult vocal passages was evident throughout the evening, especially in virtuosic pieces such as the 2nd. act aria 'Al lampo dell' armi...with which he sets off to face his Egyptian enemies". The Herald Journal, Richard B. Wursten (Utah) July 2000.

"Countertenor Jerry Hinks, who plays Ceasar in 'Julius Ceasar', is equally impressive. He has a strong, lyrical voice and he gives his character dignity and nobility". Deseret News Archives, Edward Reichel (Utah) July 2000.

"Hinks, singing the soprano versions transposed for Farinelli,.. displayed a voice of disingenuous purity
- perfect for the bewitched hero."- Peter Lasha, Gaze

"Countertenor Jerry Hinks makes Cupid into the scamp that he is and sings effortlessly."
- Michael Anthony, Star Tribune

" The first sign that things were on track was the appearance of countertenor Jerry Hinks in the female role of the sorceress Melissa. From his first note he was formidable.. and clear of voice."
- Michael Fleming, St. Paul Pioneer Press

"Countertenor Jerry Hinks gave colorful expression to the role of Melissa"
- Michael Anthony, Star Tribune

"Jerry Hinks,.. accomplished as Cupid"
- Michael Flemming, St. Paul Pioneer Press

"..performing with fine voice and characterization...Jerry Hinks as Corindo."
Chicago Sun
