Biography
|
| Career highlights have included the title
role of performing Musetta opposite Giuseppe Taddei as Marcello; the title
role in LA TRAVIATA; Fiordiligi in COSI FAN TUTTE; Susannah in LE NOZZE DI
FIGARO; Lauretta in GIANNI SCHICCHI; Gretel in HANSEL AND GRETEL; Rosalinda
in DIE FLEDERMAUS; Goldentrill in IMPRESARIO; and the title role in ELISIR
D’AMORE, a role she debuted at Italy’s Festival di Musica da Camera. Concert
highlights have included Handel’s MESSIAH; Poulenc’s GLORIA; Faure’s
REQUIEM; Vivaldi’s GLORIA and Mozart’s EXULTATE JUBILATE. Ms. Cotroneo
studied with Gianni Raimondi and Giuseppe Taddei; coaches with Isabelle
Aubin; and Maestro Gildo DiNunzio of the Metropolitan Opera. In September
2006 she will star in the world premier of PASSAGIO PROTETTO (Safe Passage),
a monumental work paying tribute to the Italians who rescued the Jews during
the Holocaust. |
